Please take note that we are currently in the process of relocating to Hartford county and will not be offering any Mindfulness programs in 2016. We will be resuming our community program offerings in Hartford country in 2017. In the meanwhile, we are available to do talks and half/ full day workshops for community and corporate groups. Mindfulness provides a simple but powerful route for getting ourselves unstuck from dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. It is being fully aware and at peace in the present moment, without judgment or strife.
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program offers a unique opportunity to experience and practice mindfulness over a period eight weeks through guided meditations, gentle yoga, discussions, didactic presentations and learning how to bring mindfulness into daily life. This life-affirming program was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn (author of ‘Full Catastrophe Living’ among others) in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Over the past 35 years, this program has been the subject of hundreds of clinical research studies that have proven the health and well-being benefits of mindfulness.
